Description

A map titled "Plan of the City of Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri." The map plots commercial additions and other buildings in Independence and the area along the Missouri River. The inset is titled "Forty Acre Tract as Subdivided into Streets and Building Lots." An oval stamp near the lower right corner is from the War Department, Office of Explorations and Surveys. An annotation near the top right corner reads: "85." Handwriting on the back reads: "Duplic, +Q.206, Flat." A stamp on the back reads: "Surplus, Non-Record Copy from the National Archives."
