Description

A British map titled "Isigny." The map, labeled 6E/6 in a series, is of an area in northwest France near the English Channel, Omaha Beach, and Utah Beach. The map shows transportation routes, boundaries, forts, power cables, churches, windmills, windpumps, watermills, towers, monuments, wireless stations, orchards, vineyards, marshes, quarries, and other areas of interest. Blue pencil annotations show troop movement and positions, possibly of Allied landings at Omaha Beach. Points of interest follow from St. Laurent-sur-Mer, la Mare au Tendeur, Colleville-sur-Mer, meet at Aignerville and follow to the area surrounding Colombieres and Bricqueville.
