Darling Nan;--

Your letter was received a few minutes ago and I thought I'd answer it immediately; I am rather blue this morning as I have been sick for two or three days, had a chill. I have been having a real pleasant time, but haven't seen any cute boys yet, the boys and girls are pretty fast here and are so Yankeefied [sic]. I attended one of their Mites given for the benefit of the Methodist church had considerable fun, went to a May party the first day of this month, I didn't enjoy myself very well though, but formed a great many new acquaintances. I was going to a Sociable last night but was sick, am going to the Opera tomorrow night. Mat and I have a boss time driving and horse back riding, we went fishing last Saturday, about four miles from here, I didn't catch a single fish but had lots of fun. Nan, I'd just give anything if I could visit you for I want to see all of you so bad, but I cannot leave here until it is decided about my school, if possible I would go, but don't expect I can. I know you'll all have a jolly time, you must write and tell me all about it. All of you come to see me, if you don't I never will forgive you. I expect maybe I'll visit Lute sometime this Summer, I don't know for certain. I am so sorry to hear of Sallie Moorehead being expelled and surprised too she would have been the last one I was thinking of I wonder what it was about. Dickabus sends them home in a hurry don't [sic] he? I haven't heard from Mary for so long and I haven't received a letter from Lute since I have been here, it seems to me like I am always writing letters and never get one. I write home twice a week most all the time. I never did see such weather in my life, and this is dustiest place and the wind has been blowing so very hard that it is impossible to keep clean, we had a nice shower last night that settled the dust, but I was terribly scared I thought we were going to have a cyclone the wind blew so hard, every time it rained I am afraid there will be one they are getting so common. You will have to go back to school to regain your health mine hasn't been near so good since I stopped school, guess I eat too much. Mat and I are going to return some of our calls this evening. I don't feel very much like it either, I have such a cold have to sit with my mouth open like an idiot all the time and blow my nose about every minute. Mat sends love and says tell you she is as blue as indigo today. Give my love to Miss Lida and tell her nothing would please me better than to accept her kind invitation

. Write soon. With such love to you I am lovingly yours

Mattie
