My dear Nan:--

I am very much ashamed of not answering your letter but have been so very busy ever since it was received. I am going to do as you said, not stop to make any thing. If you can meet me in Glasgow next Thursday (the 23rd) I will leave here on the 8 o'clock train. A.M. I believe that is the time you left. If this suits you, write & let me know immediately as I will wait for a reply. Ella would be delighted to accept your kind invitation & thank you very much, but says it is impossible for her to leave home. I sincerely hope your health will improve, am very sorry you are feeling so badly & you have my deepest sympathy in your affliction but I think it is such consolation when your friends are Christians for we know "our loss is their gain", but it is so hard to have to give them up.

Nan, I don't want you to make any extra efforts to entertain me for I am just going to see you & your folks & no one else & I detest meeting strangers & want to be treated like one of the family.

Please answer if my arrangement will suit you, if not do not hesitate to say so. All send much love, myself included,

Yours lovingly,

Mattie
