MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
I asked the President whether he had any thoughts as to whether or not I should resign from the Hoover Commission. He expressed himself strongly in the belief that I should not resign. I explained the danger of finding myself without knowing it in opposition to a course which he might later recommend, with resultant embarrassment on the Hill, but he thought that we could prevent this by prior discussion of those points.
