Memorandum of brief call of Belgian Ambassador on the Secretary (just prior to NAP meeting at 3 p.m.)
The Belgian Ambassador called at his request and handed the Secretary the attached letter to the Secretary from the Ambassador expressing M. Spaak's deep concern with the present developments in the Indonesian situation.
The Ambassador had discussed the situation with Mr. Rusk and Mr. Butterworth late yesterday evening. The Secretary informed the Belgian Ambassador that he had requested that urgent attention be given to the matter and promised that he would give the matter his close, personal attention.
