The President thought I should talk with Secretary Johnson and have the Military review the paper as to the discussion of military affairs in the paper.

Korean Aid Bill
The President spoke to the leaders last Monday about the Korean Aid Bill. I told him that not much had happened and asked him to take it up this coming Monday and urge upon the leaders that the Rules Committee be induced to give a rule to the bill and that we should have strong House support.

I mentioned to the President the invitation to speak at the above-mentioned dinner. The President believes that it would be desirable for me to accept the invitation.

I mentioned that Dr. Compton and Mr. McKelway had been unable to accept the service on the Commission and that we were now discussing the matter with Charles Taft or Paul Porter, both of whom had been cleared by the President. This was agreeable to him.
