Mr. Paul Hoffman telephoned the Secretary this afternoon that he planned to make his first presentation of the ECA program on February 21, and wondered if the Secretary would appear before the Joint Committees in behalf of ECA on the morning of the twenty-first. The Secretary said, of course, he would be glad to appear, and Mr. Hoffman said he would be in touch with our people with regard to his \(Mr. Hoffman's\) presentation.
Mr. Hoffman also said that George Perkins had been in touch with him about Stikker's proposed visit to the United States. The Secretary said that he supposed it was all right to let him come over, but that he would look into the matter right away and get in touch with Mr. Hoffman today or tomorrow.
