Item 2. OEEC Meeting and Stikker Appointment
I reviewed this whole matter with the President, who had, by his memorandum of February 8, drawn my attention to Ambassador Murphy's cable no. 180 from Brussels of February 6. The President was entirely satisfied with the recitation of facts. He was chiefly concerned to be sure that all American policy as shown in this meeting represented an agreement between the State Department, Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Harriman. I assured him that this was the case.
