MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
Item No. 4 Questions and Answers on Hydrogen Bomb
I referred to the President's note to me on this subject of February 14 and said that the project had been gotten up to see whether it would be of any use, and I quite agreed with the President's view and that the memorandum should not circulate.
The President spoke of his great interest in developing power for peaceful uses and his belief that this would put the military aspects in the background. He did not discuss the question further as he had other engagements.
