Meeting with the President
Item 4. Argentine Developments
I went over these with the President, who was greatly pleased at the progress which we were making. He was most complimentary to Mr. Miller on these achievements.
The President asked me what, in my judgment would be the effect upon Brazil over the relations which we were achieving with Argentina, and also what would be the significance of the Brazilian-American relations if former President Vargas were reelected. I said that I would prefer to discuss this with Mr. Miller before answering the question and would have as soon as possible a memorandum on the subject for the President.
Would Mr. Miller or Mr. Barber please prepare such a memorandum.
