MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
Item No. 1: Visit of the President of Ecuador
The President approved of our going forward with a visit from the President of Ecuador from June 20 to June 23. As I reported earlier, the President thinks that it would be best for the President of Ecuador to stay with him the night of his arrival, which, according to the dates mentioned above, would be June 20.

MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
Item No. 2 - Luncheon for the Norwegian Prime Minister
The President has agreed to have a luncheon for the Norwegian Prime Minister. In discussing the dates with him, I find that he will be in town on Monday, May 28, and would prefer to have the luncheon on that date.
We must consider the question of having an interpreter, so that there can be discussion between the President and the Prime Minister. I should like to talk with Mr. Simmons about this.
Also I discussed with the President the desirability of varying the guest list, so that other members of the House and Senate Committees might have an opportunity to meet some of our foreign visitors. The President likes this idea. I should like to talk with Mr. McFall and Mr. Simmons about this also.

MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
Item No. 3 - Ambassadorial Appointments
I discussed with the President the problem presented by Ambassador Florman and know the President's wishes. I will talk this over with Mr. Humelsine. The President would be very happy indeed to set aside some hour late some afternoon, whenever we are ready to go over a list of any possible changes. He discussed with me one or two people whom he had in mind.
