Dear Walter:
You have probably seen and heard about the recent article in Newsweek concerning the "Clash of Personalities" between Anthony Eden and me. It seemed to me that I should send some word to Anthony which would put down any doubts which such a mischievous and false story could well raise in his mind.
Would you be good enough to read the letter and, if you think it accomplishes its purpose, deliver it personally to Anthony? I hate to trouble you but I shall be very grateful to you.
