MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION
Participants: Secretary Acheson Dr. Carias, the Honduran Representative
The Honduran representative wanted to know whether and when I thought another meeting of the Latinos or any part of them would be useful. He said that they attached much importance to these meetings. I said that I would think about the matter and be in touch with him.
It seems to me if we are going to have a crisis about inviting people or not inviting people to appear before committees on such things as the South African problem and the North African problem, it might be well to get these Latin American delegations really lined up.
Please have this matter carefully considered, and, when we are prepared to ask for something, we might do it through such a medium.
