Dear Dean:
I greatly appreciate your letter of November 25th. I had not seen the Washington Post cartoon. Its author caught, realistically, what I am sure is the spirit of our respective moods.
I have always had the finest cooperation from the State Department, and I welcome your offer of that continuing cooperation during the intervening period ahead.
I hope to be getting down to Washington several days a week, beginning early in December, with a view to getting somewhat acquainted with the tasks ahead. I shall hope to call on you then.
Sincerely yours,
s/Foster
