Dear Bess:

Well I found two letters with two enclosures when I got back from Ft. Lee. Fred Canfil drove me down last night and we stayed at a tourist camp about fourteen miles south of Richmond. Left here about five in the evening and went to bed at ten. Ate dinner in Fredericksburg and it was a relief to get away from here - just like getting out of jail. What you told Miss Kerr is perfectly all right. We seem to have established a precedent.

Fred Whitaker is as proud as Lucifer over those gold bars. They mean a lot more to him than Marshall's four stars do to him. Vandenberg was down there to see his boy get his bars and was very happy over it.

We left at 9:30 and I was back at work at 1:30. Recieved my tickets and itinerary over the State of Maine. Will be at Eastland Hotel at Portland, Me. Sunday and Sunday night. Be at Dexter, Me. Monday night c/o Sen. Brewster. Will be at Squaw Inn for dinner at Greenville, Me. on Tuesday evening at Gannett Camp Wednesday at Hotel Samoset, Rockland, Me. Thursday night. Take Federal Express at Boston Friday night and get back here Saturday A.M. at eight. Will send you a complete schedule tomorrow so you'll have it Sunday. Will try to help Lela Knox. Hope those teeth came out without pain or hurt.

Kiss Margie. Love to you Harry

Here is the schedule. Got Miss Baker to make it.
