Dear Bess:
No letters yet but maybe they'll be here in the morning. We left the Coronada at ten minutes to eight and pulled into the Fair Grounds at 2 P.M. - mighty slow time for Mr. Canfil. We saw a lot of people and watched five horse races, two of which were won by a woman jockey. I met an old woman by the name of Eliza Jane who said she'd been racing horses for fifty seven years and that she just couldn't quit. She owned a horse in nearly every race. They all seem to miss Roy and old Judge McCarty very much - and so do I. I am going to Blythville Ark. tomorrow morning and inspect the airport and call on Roy's wife. Neil said she had a radiogram from him stating that he'd been commissioned. Isn't that something for 'em all to be proud of - and he earned it.
My speech goes on about mid-afternoon tomorrow and then Fred will take me to St. Louis. I'll catch the National Limited and be with you on Monday. Saw the American today. They did cut out the bad paragraphs and maybe it won't hurt anything.
Kiss Margie. Love to you Harry
