President Harry S. Truman greets his wife and daughter, who preceded him home, following his arrival for a brief stay in Independence, Missouri. Military police guard the "Sacred Cow," the presidential airplane, which landed at Fairfax Airport in Kansas City, Kansas, at 11:46 A. M.
