Description
The "Independence" being prepared for a flight to Rio de Janeiro. The "Independence" was made by the Douglas Aircraft Co. in California and entered service on July 1, 1947. It was a D.C. 6 and painted gold, blue and silver to represent an eagle. The pilot was Colonel Henry Myers.
