This is a photograph of a political cartoon by Jim Berryman and published around 1951 in the Washington Evening Star. The photo shows Harry Truman building a balcony out of wood planks that read "'51 Defense effort" and "'48 Democratic platform." He says "Of course I'm not giving up the old stand--I'm just adding a balcony!"
