Description
This picture shows Special Order #64 which banished residents from Independence, Missouri in August 1863. They were not allowed to go to the Counties of Platte, Clay, Ray, or Carroll, Missouri. Moreover, they were not allowed to return until the end of the rebellion. The order was signed by Brigadier General Ewing. From Milton Perry.
