Description
World War I refugees liberated from German hands by the American capture of the St. Mihiel salient, gathered in Fliery the day after the drive. This group had been held prisoners in Essey, five kilometers back of the line. Donor: Frank Freidel, who purchased the photographs from the National Archives.
