President Harry S. Truman throws out the first ball at Griffith Stadium, Washington, D.C., pitching left-handed. The Washington Senators were set to play the New York Yankees. The Senators defeated the Yankees 12 to 4. Charles Ross and William D. Hassett are behind President Truman, Margaret and Mrs. Bess Truman are beside him. The owner of the Washington Senators, Clark Griffith, and Bucky Harris in uniform, stand to the President's side.
