Judge Harry S. Truman at the helm of the U.S.S. Paducah. The picture appeared in an article in the Washington Post. Truman was taking a cruise with the Eighth Naval Reserve Battalion. Truman left Kansas City by train and boarded the U.S.S. Paducah in Chicago and sailed on the Great Lakes for two weeks.
