Original caption: The USS Manchester is almost hidden from view as a full salvo is fired from its main battery. This rapid rate of fire soon blistered the pain on the gun barrels and left the docks littered with empty shell casings. The USS Manchester's big guns hit enemy installations around the Kosang area with devastating results, completely neutralizing the area.
The USS Bass docked alongside the USS Manchester in Wonsan Harbor, Korea to transfer injured men from the Bass to the Manchester. Crew members of each ship stand alongside to assist. John D. Bryan, United States Navy, is hoisted up to the Manchester in a stretcher basket. All others are unidentified.
