President Harry S. Truman is waving his hat as he returned to Washington today after a 20 day trip to Brazil. The Chief Executive was tanned and appeared rested as he stepped from the presidential yacht Williamsburg at the Washington Gun Factory.

President Truman's press secretary, Charles Ross (fifth from the left), points to a painting in the Oval Office called "The Peacemakers" by George P. A. Healy. It depicts President Lincoln's meeting in March, 1865 with General Grant, General Sherman, and Admiral Porter. The painting was recently purchased with White House maintenance funds for $10,000.

Margaret Truman, daughter of the Chief Executive, finished her present concert tour this evening with a final concert at Constitution Hall in Washington. She sang before an audience of almost 4,000 persons, among whom were top administration and diplomatic corps members.
