It is believed that this photograph was taken while President Truman was visiting Mackinac Island in Michigan. The picture is autographed and reads: "To Charlie Murphy from Harry Truman." A Damaged North Korean Sampan is Brought Aboard the USS Manchester

Sailors assist in bringing a damaged North Korean sampan on board the USS Manchester. The North Koreans unsuccessfully attempted to mine the USS Manchester in Wonsan Harbor off the coast of Korea. All are unidentified. The photograph was in an album entitled "The story of the North Korean small boat flotilla who attempted to mine us in on [sic] a dark foggy night R. Adm. Lewis S. Parks. USS Manchester."

A USS Manchester Whale Boat Maneuvers a Damaged Boat

A damaged boat from the small boat flotilla that attempted to mine the USS Manchester, is maneuvered along side the Manchester by naval seamen in a United States "whale boat." The sailors are unidentified. The photograph was in an album entitled "The story of the North Korean small boat flotilla who attempted to mine us in on [sic] a dark foggy night R. Adm. Lewis S. Parks. USS Manchester."
