Workmen cutting around large ornamental design at the center of the East Room ceiling of the White House. Before it was loosened, the wooden frame was raised and the design lowered onto it.

Design on the ceiling of the White House Lobby, to the east of the main entrance, dating from 1902. It was revealed when the fake ceiling installed in 1902 was removed.
