East Room ceiling at the White House
Workmen cutting around large ornamental design at the center of the East Room ceiling of the White House. Before it was loosened, the wooden frame was raised and the design lowered onto it.
Northeast view of bathroom b-20, taken during the renovation of the White House. The reddish paper on the wall, covered by the plaster and tile of the bathroom date from 1881. It was then that the bathroom was partitioned off from Room 20.
