The photo was taken at his desk in his office during an interview by noted writer Merle Miller for the Truman television adaptation of Miller's book, "Plain Speaking," which appeared on the Public Broadcasting System in 1976.

Truman with Eddie Jacobson, Kansas City

Former President Harry S. Truman (left) with Eddie Jacobson (right) on the southeast corner of Linwood Boulevard and Flora Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The building on the left is part of the west wall of B'nai Jehudah Temple. This photo was taken outside the temple after religious school students presented former President Truman with a certificate for trees planted in his honor in Israel. Mr. Jacobson was then a trustee of Congregation B'nai Jehudah. Mr. Truman has autographed the photo. The young lady on the left is Irene Stiefel, later Irene Stiefel Starr. From: Frank Adler.
