President Gerald Ford (third from left on right side of the table) talks with newspaper executives at the White House. E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. is second from left on the left hand side of the table. Other men and the waiter are unidentified. Note on back of photograph reads: "Everybody in the family dining room of the White House heard President Ford mention CIA assassinations. Was it off the record or on? I said "off" (mine is the whitest head there). The publisher of The New York Times, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger (obscured by the president), agreed.

It is labeled "Farewell dinner - May 27, 1957, Harrisburg, Pa., for Allen Sulcowe, Director, Pennsylvania Bureau of Employment Security." Those in view are not identified. Sulcowe became Director of the Pennsylvania State Employment Service in 1942, serving until his appointment as Executive Director of the Bureau of Employment Services in 1955. He was appointed First Executive Deputy Secretary of Revenue by Pennsylvania Governor George Leader in 1957, and acting Secretary of Revenue in 1958.
