Mayors

During her European tour, Margaret Truman visited Berlin, Germany, where she was received by Mayor Dr. Walther Schreiber and the Protocol Chief, Dr. Busse, at the Schoeneberg Townhall. Dr. Schreiber handed her a porcelain model of the Freedom Bell. She also signed the Golden Guestbook of the city Berlin. Left to right are: Professor Eich, Dr. Busse, Miss Truman, and Dr. Schreiber. President Harry S. Truman, Chicago Mayor Martin H. Kennelly (center), and Frank McKinney (right), Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, are shown in the back seat of an automobile. The President, having just arrived at Midway Airport, was in Chicago to attend the 1952 Democratic National Convention.
