Chaplain Kirtley was leaving for service in Korea and was being recognized for development of a spiritual program that aroused great enthusiasm on the post.

Major Robert N. Duffy, Assistant 4th Infantry Division Aviation Officer (left), receives the Commendation Ribbon upon his retirement after twenty years of Army service. After his 4th Infantry Division won top praise in "Exercise Dragon Head" maneuvers in North Carolina, Major General Louis W.
