The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Edward J. Flanagan, founder of Boys Town in Nebraska, reported to the President on his recent mission to Japan where he assisted the Japanese government in plans for improved child welfare programs. He said he gave the President messages of good will from General Douglas MacArthur and from the Japanese Emperor and Empress. Father Flanagan is shown here with President Truman at his desk.
