Independence, Missouri Mayor Robert P. Weatherford, at the microphone, and Harry S. Truman at the ribbon-cutting ceremony opening a new section of Truman Road, at the corner of Truman and Main.

In Serres, Greece, men are beginning new road programs. Men are working on creating the shoulder and the foundation for the roads. This project was funded by the American Mission to Aid Greece. All men are unidentified.
