From a series of radio programs called "It's Up to You," sponsored by the Women's Democratic Committee. Hosted by India Edwards, executive director of the women's division of the Democratic party. The guest is Eleanor Roosevelt, former First Lady of the United States, diplomat, and activist. The subject is Democratic Women's Day, when women were admitted to the Executive Committee of the Democratic Party in 1919, and also women taking part in government.

President Truman's Radio Address on Democratic Women's Day

President Harry S. Truman's radio address on Democratic Women's Day. The President's address was part of a program sponsored by the Women's Division of the Democratic National Committee marking "Democratic Women's Day." The President spoke at 3:05 p.m. from the Projection Room of the White House. He was introduced by Mrs. India Edwards, executive director of the Women's Division of the Democratic National Committee.

This is a photograph of a group of attendees to the UNRRA (United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration) meeting held in Montreal, Canada. The only woman in view is Ellen S. Woodward, a member of the Social Security Board. Dean Acheson is seated on the far right and represented the United States State Department. Standing in the center, fifth from the right, is George L. Warren, a long time principal adviser on refugees and displaced persons for the Department of State. Others in view are not identified.

Washington, D. C. Harry S. Truman was chatting with several Democratic women at a reception tonight when photographers moved in for close-ups. This was the result. The former President did not comment on his open-mouth pose. Later, Harry S. Truman addressed the National Conference of Democratic Women and accused the Republican administration of robbing ordinary citizens to "pay off political obligations to the gigantic financiers."
