Map of Allied and Enemy Positions

French map titled "Verdun A." The map is numbered 199 in a series. A pencil note on the front reads: "Original map used in Argonne by R.I.O. 140 Inf 35 Div, Sept 25 - 18 to Oct 1 - 18." A pencil note on the back reads: "Original map used in Argonne by R.I.O. 140 Inf. Showing enemy works and M.G. emplacements, arty emplacements and trench system, Sept. 26 - Oct 1 - 1918." The map was marked "Secret." Donated by Ralph E. Truman.

Map of Trenches and Positions

French map titled "Verdun A." The map, numbered 199 in a series, shows the advancement of French trenches and systems as of August 12, 1918. Pencil markings on the top portion of the map may refer to battery positions. An attached note reads: "Contributed by George M. Hagee, St. Louis, Missouri." Donated by George M. Hagee.

Map of the Movement of Company A, 128th Machine Gun Battalion

Two French maps, numbered 210 and 211 in a series, that are annotated with black lines to show the movement of Company A, 128th Machine Gun Battalion. Red pencil notations highlight the place and date of soldiers killed in action. Handwritten notes on the back read: "Portions of Montblainville and Very, Sheets 1/10,000, Charpentry-Baulny-Montrebeau Woods-Exermont. Movements of Co A, 128th Machine Gun Bn, Sept 27-Oct 1, 1918." Donated by Ward L. Schrantz.

Map of 35th Division Movement During the Meuse-Argonne Offensive

French map titled "Montblainville." The map, numbered 210 in a series, shows a portion of the Argonne Forest and the Aire River. Overprinting shows the location of lodging huts for troops and battery positions. Several annotations on the front show the positions of the 137th, 138th, 139th, and 140th Inf. (35th Division) from September 28 to October 1, 1918. The positions of the 28th and 91st Divisions are also noted. A notation on the back reads: "Montblainville, C. O. 140 Inf. Original map used in Argonne by R.E. Truman R.I.O 140 Inf." Donated by Ralph E.

Map of Trench Systems, Positions, and Objectives

A French map titled "Etain-A." The map, numbered 201 in a series, has a small portion of another map glued to it at the bottom. The map, of an area in northeast France, is overprinted to show trench systems, battery activity, and other details. Pencil annotations near the lower part of the map, near Bezonvaux, Dieppe, Damloup, Soupleville Farm, Moranville, and Blanzee, indicate troop positions and objectives. On the back of the map is a column of numbers written in red pencil.

Map of German Positions and Supply

A French map titled "La Haute Chevauchee." The map, numbered 209 in a series, shows the area surrounding the Argonne forest and is overprinted to show trench systems, battery activity, shelters, and other details. The map is also annotated to show intelligence, as of September 7, 1918, regarding German first positions for the possible use of Allied artillery. A legend describing these annotations accompany this map. Handwriting on the back reads: "C.O. 140th Inf., La Haute Chevauchee, 1/10,000."
