The Road to Harry S. Truman's Post of Command During World War I Near Verdun

A photograph of a road near Verdun in World War I France. On the back, Harry S. Truman wrote a description, part of which is unintelligible. He states, in part, that ". . . from Fort Tavanne. Where the road runs is where my --- dougout and Post of command was in the war. It was shelled regularly but was never hit." The photograph is part of a collection belonging to Harry S. Truman from the time he spent in France during World War I.
