Map of the Eastern Front
A photocopy of a German situation map of the Eastern front. The map is annotated to show boundary lines, front lines, the positions and headquarters of German and Soviet units, and other details. Handwriting at the top right of the map reads: "Ex 1577, Cross Exam, Adm." Five photocopies have been aligned and taped together to form this irregular map. As a result, not all areas are aligned perfectly. Handwritten on the back of each photocopy is the number 64.
Map of the Esso War Effort
An American map titled "Esso War Map: Featuring Transportation: The Key to Every Successful Campaign." A marketing strategy by Esso, this map describes the application of Esso products connected to the war effort. Printed text reads: "To-day transportation means petroleum. Fuel for battleships and freighters. Power for planes and tanks. Lubricants to save precious seconds in moving vast masses of men and materials to the ends of the world.
Map of Rome Transportation Systems
A complete index of the monuments labeled on M1826. The Italian map, titled "Rete Autofilotranviaria," shows the tram, omnibus, and railway system of Rome. An index of the lines and stops is included. This map is located on the back of M1826.

An Italian map titled "Pianta di Roma: Con Oltre 400 Monumenti e Pianta Autofilotranviaria." The map of Rome shows roads, rivers, mountains, monuments, and other details. Multiple monuments have been circled in black pen while a handwritten note at the top appears to give directions to Largo Brancaccio. Printed text in Italian, French, English, and Spanish states that the back of this map has a complete index of the monuments numbered on the front, as well as a tram and omnibus route map.

Map of Northern Scotland
A portion of a German map covering an area of northern Scotland. The map shows relief, boundaries, roads, railroads, rail stations, bridges, viaducts, canals, churches, communication centers, forests, mineral lines, windmills, windpumps, and other details. A German to English legend, along with other text, has been partially cut off. This map is located on the back of M1820.
Map of the London Underground
The map of the London Underground shows various lines, stations, escalator connections, and interchange stations. The tinted area highlights the stations near American Red Cross clubs. Printed text, accompanied by photographs, gives details on some of these clubs. This map is located on the back of M1448.
Map of Paris
A brochure titled "The United States Army: Guide for Leave Troops." The larger map of Paris shows roads, railroad stations, museums, main buildings, parks, churches, sporting venues, theaters, subway lines and stations, subway lines under construction, and other details. The smaller map of the Paris Metro shows each line and its stops. Printed messages from several Commanding Generals relay expectations and standards that the soldier must attend to. Other printed text includes a short history on some of the main buildings and an index that locates areas on the larger map.
