Oval Office Memovox disc recording, which includes May 23, 1945 press conference in the Oval Office. President Harry S. Truman's eighth news conference was held in his office at the White House at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 1945. The recording is poor quality except for the press conference, which can be heard fairly plainly. Also contains other conversation fragments that are hard to understand. The Oval Office recordings were made from 1945 to 1948 by a Memovox machine kept in the Oval Office. This recording was made from Memovac disc 500x.
