Secretary of State Dean Acheson today reported to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the Big Four Meeting in Paris. In a two hour meeting with members of the Committee, the Secretary warned that the end of the cold war is not yet in sight. He further urged the early ratification of the North Atlantic Pact. Dean Acheson testifying before Senate Committee

Secretary of State Acheson today opened testimony on the 12-Nation Anti-Aggression Pact before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with a plea for early ratification of the Pact. The Treaty cannot go into effect until it is ratified by the original seven negotiating nations. Ratification in the United States requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate.
