Supporting legislation to create a Columbia Valley Authority, Secretary of the Interior Julius A. Krug testified before a House Public Works Committee that the people of the Northwest are unanimous in wanting speedy development of the Columbia River Basin. The charges against Senator Sheridan Downey and Representative Alfred J. Elliott were made before a House Executive Expenditures Subcommittee. The group has been investigating charges that federal funds were used illegally for propaganda purposes in connection with Central Valley.
