Asked Bd of Econ Advisors to prepare a report for consideration of Cabinet. Asked Dr. Nourse to outline present economic outlook.

NOURSE

There are 4 current problems. (There are now 60 million civilian jobs - this is increase of employment over 1st of year. The unemployed figure is 2.5 (million).

Tax reduction and payment of 2 billion in Veterans Bonds is most unfortunate at this time in our effort to prevent inflationary trend.

The whole situation should be brought to the attention of the public. Will send message to Congress as opening gun on program of education.
