THE PRESIDENT
Discussed repercussions of House action in voting to increase Air Force appropriations. It will have great effect on labor market. It is important to keep air program fluid and not go overboard on fixed design.
FORRESTAL
The real question is whether a big bomber is now as obsolete as a battleship due to radar developments. Air factories now recruiting personnel - drawing from other industries where manpower is tight.
COMMERCE (Foster)
The National Defense Dept is now raiding Commerce Dept. personnel.
MORSE
We now have over 60 million employed in the U. S. Highest in our history - 1 ½ millon over last year's peak.

We are going to drive for a balanced program.
