Asked Acheson to proceed (he departs for Paris meeting of foreign ministers today). Acheson is to put out a full statement re Greek situation.
KRUG
Is encouraged by synthetic oil which is being developed. Has witnessed demonstration of synthetic from coal and also from oil shale. In oil shale deposits in Utah and Colorado there are over 200 billion barrels available.

Wants to see Mexican oil deposits developed.
JOHNSON
Says Defense has no interest in Mexico.

Says he is vitally interested and instructed State and Defense to proceed with Mexican development.
