There may be a sharp crisis with the Russians at U. N. Security Council next week - following the Yugoslavia election.
JOHNSON
Mrs. Roosevelt expressed appreciation of President’s appointments in the government - particularly Tom Clark.
THE PRESIDENT
Before Johnson goes before House Committee Investigating Unification the Pres wants to have a talk with Johnson & Early - not to tell them what to say but to give them some of his own views.
MCGRATH
Sen. Green has had no luck with Hoffman. ECA in getting them to channel some textile orders for Germany to relieve unemployment in New England.

Told Steelman to look into the matter.
KRUG
Have best Interior appropriation bill in history.
SAWYER
Thinks that ECA program should be re-examined to see if trouble spots in our own economy can’t be aided.

Suggested Sawyer, Brannan and Steelman get together with Hoffman.
BARKLEY
Sen Cain threatened to hold up vote on DP bill by filibuster until McCarran returns. This could carry over a couple of weeks. However this session will go into next week anyway.

To Tom Clark - The members of the Cabinet asked him to present a Navy clock to Clark in view of fact he has slowed down in his activities.
