CABINET MEETING, TUESDAY, JULY 21, 1950
All present plus Harriman, Symington
THE PRESIDENT
Present attendance will constitute the War Cabinet. There will be no additions. We will not have any WPB or other camp followers at Cabinet meetings.
V.P.
Only reservation is that there may be a clamor for Republican membership in Cabinet.
THE PRESIDENT
That will be handled on the basis of Republican advisors to Cabinet members.
STATE
Of 183 Communist deputies in French parliament 171 have obtained passports. It is a significant thing. The U. S. should follow out the orders of the U. N. and not make threats of action beyond 81st parallel.
SYMINGTON
Raised question as to whether priority allocations should be delegated to Commerce or NSRB.
THE PRESIDENT
Will decide that when he sees budget recommendations.
V.P.
Sen Tydings did effective job on presentation of Committee report on Sen McCarthy's charges yesterday. Republicans tried every device to block filing of report.
GEN BRADLEY
Gave Cabinet report on Korea.
