Briefed Cabinet on Korea.
WEBB
Malik made no new proposal at U. N. with respect to Korea. Russia is still on the fence and it seems that they are delaying any proposition until they see which way the war goes in Korea.
SNYDER
Thinks the tax bill is in pretty good shape in the Senate Committee. The O'Mahoney Bill is too hastily written and if reported to floor would require lengthy hearings and debate.
JOHNSON
The hearings in Senate Foreign Relations yesterday went very well. Johnson told Committee that any decision on how World War III would be prosecuted, if necessary, would be that of the Commander-in-Chief and no one else.
BRANNAN
We are still negotiating with the Australians for the purchase of their wool crop. Suggests a buying mission to prevent individual mills with government contracts from boosting prices by individual bids in competition with each other.
THE PRESIDENT
Had a good meeting this week with the Chairmen of Regulatory Agencies. It is amazing how these agencies have been gutted by Congress by reductions in appropriations.
SYMINGTON
Congress should be reminded that some of these agencies are participating in war effort and that Congressional cuts are impeding the war effort.

The action by Congress is a deliberate and planned program of the Right Wing Democrats and the Republicans.
