Pres. of Ecuador made excellent speech at Joint Session of Congress yesterday.

ACHESON

Developments in Iran are very bad. British made a generous offer but it was turned down cold and Iran took over British oil property. British may be forced to shut down refinery which employs 70,000 people - represents 25% of total national income. This will probably result in a revolution in Iran.

After 74 meetings in Paris the U. S. has cut off discussions with the Deputies of Big 3 countries. This was result of Soviet stalling tactics.

CHAPMAN

Iran situation will cause need for reshuffling of our domestic supply system as well as the need to supply our allies with their requirements.

SAWYER

If airline strike goes forward Air Force will have to take over.

BRANNAN
