Poland yesterday closed last information office behind the Iron Curtain. We have retaliated by closing down the Polish Information Office in New York. We have had a bad time with the Philippines on Japanese Peace Treaty but it is working out OK.
V. P.
Senate has not done much this week. House voted military appropriation bill in good shape.
THE PRESIDENT
Inflation is on the march again. By next March we will be back to the peak of prices and cost of living.
TOBIN
The controls bill is impossible to administer.
WILSON
Industry is going to demand price increases and because of Capehart amendment to control bill we will have to grant the increases.
THE PRESIDENT
There is an outrageous condition in connection with loyalty investigations. People are being persecuted without cause. Urged members to cooperate in correcting these abuses. Is also very disturbed about West Point cribbing scandal. Hopes to be able to get at the cause and develop a corrective program to clean up the situation.
