Senate is talking on tidelands. Nothing up to now has happened of importance.

Wrote letter to V.P. on reorganization of Internal Revenue urging passage.
STATE
Iran oil talks are going on - British are still stubborn. Mossadegh is a little more reasonable than he has been heretofore. In Egypt they have a new Prime Minister. The whole crisis now is whether British will cooperate with the new government. The French are in trouble in Tunisia. We are trying to get this worked out but the Middle East is a very troublesome and sensitive spot right now.
LOVETT
Asked for guidance on request of Cong Chelf for report on cases referred to Dept of Justice and disposition.
THE PRESIDENT
Is sending memorandum to all Departments telling them to ignore any such request.
HARRIMAN
Start testimony on MSA Thursday of this week.
WILSON
Is worried about a possible steel strike which would cripple defense effort
